June Gloom in July
Walking through Laguna Beach yesterday afternoon we spotted this "Wanted" poster. For some reason, June Gloom has stayed long past its welcome this summer and some residents of Southern California are beginning to get very, very antsy. While our neighbors in the east are dealing with sweltering temperatures, we have been living underneath a blanket of thick, grey cloud cover that has caused our residents to become both cranky and creative.
I did not call the phone number on the poster for fear that I might be asked to rescue some poor soul who has been locked away inside of their home, suffering desperately from Seasonal Affective Disorder. But I definitely appreciated the humor behind its sentiment. And I also love the idea that whomever posted this sign made a lot of people smile(even if only an itty-bitty tiny one) and that by doing so, they might have just brought the sunshine back into the lives of those who stopped to read it.
I sent our dog Micah out to search for the sun since he absolutely LOVES big, shiny balls and he is a master at retrieving them.
Until then, I hope that you are enjoying some warm summer breezes, ice cream cones and a peak at some lost sunshine every now and then!

Your dog really portrays gloom in the last pic... It thought it was always sunny there! Last summer here was really bad. Grey, rainy, cold with only a few real summer days. Now we've had really warm weather for almost two weeks and I am so, so, so happy about that and hoping it will continue.
Sorry you have had no sun for so long. I love the sign and like you am glad it brought smiles to people. It is cleaver! Hope Micah finds the sun for you all and you enjoy some bright sun filled days soon. Hugs!
Oh we definitely are stealing your sunshine here on the east coast. It's been sunny and too hot since May, with temps this past week at 100. My tomato garden loves it, but I don't :/
I'm going to have a Popsicle and send some sun your way ... Go west, Sunshine!
Of course I'm loving the weather :P But it would be nice to be able to wear some of my dresses that I have!

Dear Deb
How are you doing? How was the party with you and your angels...? I would love to see some pic and post about your b'day day.
Love

Love the Wanted sign.......I too was under the impression that the sun was shining all the time in CA~! There is no perfect place is there, but a few close ones :)
We have been having a lot of humidity and dew points in the 70's. New Mexico always looks good when we are laid up from heat and humidity here in Iowa...
I hope the sunshine finds you soon. I was loving the hot, sunny days but an unsettled weather pattern found us and three out of the last four days have been rainy. It doesn't take long to miss the sun.
Great rreading your post
