TO ALL OF DEBBIE'S FRIENDS, FROM MARK

We all unfortunately know that life is hard and unfair. We all have difficulties and sorrows. And we all hope that someone is there for us during these times. Those of you who comment here are that support system for Debbie and now more than ever she needs you. I wish you all lived near at this time. The last post of Debbie's showed her two beautiful nieces along with our girls.

This past Sunday, their father and Debbie's only sibling, Robert, died of a massive heart attack. He was 41, in relatively good health and this was totally unexpected. For most of his life he had genetically high blood pressure, high cholesterol and was under the watchful care of a cardiologist. He ate well, exercised 4 times a week and was not overweight. He knew the hand God had dealt him and did what he could to offset it. He had no warning signs.

Please say a prayer for our nieces, their mom and Debbie. Please hug someone dear to you.

Mark, thank you so much for sharing this with Debbie's blog family. My prayers are going up for the family. I have come to love Debbie like the sister I never had. Please give her gentle hugs for me and let her know she's in my thoughts. May the family find their peace. Thank God the nieces have Debbie. I was a young child whose mother died suddenly and it is a lot to handle. May God hold your family in the palm of His hand as you travel this road together.

Although I am a fairly new commenter, I have been reading Debbie's blog for a while. I feel so fortunate to have found Debbie, and I am so, so sorry about the death of her brother. I wish so badly I could give her a gentle hug in person, but trust you will pass my condolences and thoughts along to her. There are just no words to adequately express my sympathy...

Oh Deb,
What can I say? I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I could be there for you. I know that you are blessed with a wonderful family and amazing faith that will help you during this time, but I do wish I could be there, just to give you a hand squeeze whenever you need it. I will be doing something even better, though. I will be lifting you around your family up to the Righteous One who gives peace that surpasses all understanding. Dear friend, you will have peace and the hurt will lessen, but until that time comes, I will be praying that God will speed it along.

Debbie - I actually do live close enough - if there is something, anything I can do, please do not hesitate to send me an email. I have to leave Friday for a week long business trip - but even if you just need someone to have lunch with anad cry with, please let me know.

I am so sorry for the loss of your brother - we've spent the last 15 months helping our good friend and her daughter through the loss of her father - what a horrible devistating time. I will add your family, and esecially his girls to my prayer list.

Mark, thank you for sharing. It's times like these when we need to know prayers and support are ours.

Deb,

I was so happy to see your comment pop up on my blog tonight. I've been thinking about you a lot and wondering how you are doing.

I can not imagine what you are dealing with but I do have only one sibling, my brother David, and would be lost without him.

I have been sending you all the positive thoughts I can and offering up cyber hugs through this blogging world.

Strange that perfect strangers can become such crucial parts of our "family." If you need anything at all, just ask. And if you ever want to chat, let me know and I'll give you my number.

I'd tell you to stay strong but something tells me that you are doing that anyway. I truly believe your brother will always be close in your heart and will help you help his children get through this time.

Still thinking of you and your sweet family. My heartbreaks for your nieces. We've been helping Molly deal with the loss of her Daddy for a year now, and it does get easier, then worse, then easier again. There are some wonderful grief support groups in So Cal - I'd be happy to pass them along for your nieces if they live in the area.
